Building a Ballast Box for a Tractor
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.3 года назад
Our new tractor has no rear ballast! It likes to tip over when lifting heavy things with the loader, so I put my fabrication skills to use and built a Ballast Box. This will come in handy to keep the tractor grounded when not using a rear implement, and won't get in the way or limit the tractors mobility or movement. This is just a quick video that shows how to fix the heated/cooled seats on a Ford Epedition. There may be better ways to do this, but this seemed to work great for me and didn't cost me anything but time.
How to install subwoofers with a factory radio - 2010 Ford Fusion
Просмотров 299 тыс.8 лет назад
I show how to install subwoofers into a car with the factory radio in my 2010 Ford Fusion. I use 2 NVX VSW124v2 subwoofers, the Audiocontrol LC2i, and the NVX JAD1200.1 amplifier. I run 1/0 Gauge power wire and 14 gauge speaker wire. I built the box with a volume of about 3.6 cubic feet and tuned to about 32 hz. Hope the video helps with your install!

What color wire is the 12v constant?
Quick question if you ever see this, do you remember where you put the ground for your RC2i, I am having trouble finding a spot
Pretty sure I used the same ground location as the amp, or daisy chained from the ground terminal on the actual amp to the LC2i
can I pay someone to do this
Wait you have a six speed fusion too? I Love mine. Very rare so cool to see another one
Might be had a fusion since this an old video
@@kiethj7 Still running strong at 240k miles, and same with the system. It'll be a sad day when it rolls its last mile
@@XxkristofpopxX Awesome. Mine has been good to me the past 6 years. I want to hook up my system so I ended up here. How does it sound being stock?
I bet our cars were born at the same place since they're both 2010 6 speed lol
Whats the gauge of the wire that you solded to the pin?
Not sure what gauge I used, I just used what I had. As long as it’s close to the same as the original wire it should work fine
Thanks so much very detailed video, mine just went out yesterday. Lord willing I will tackle this today.
Whats the deference between the lci1 and the lci2
I have the same car sti4 but automatic, didnt know it came in standard!
What did you connect your remote wire to?
Remote wire goes directly from amp to LC2i, LC2i sends remote signal when it senses power from the head unit.
Got everything wired from. What I saw in video. Just didn't see anywhere in video where u pulled power for converter.
I brought the big power cable to the amp straight from the battery, and took power from that cable to power the converter.
What did you use to power the lc2i? Does this drain battery with Amp always being on?
LC2i only turns on when it sees signal from speaker wires, doesn’t seem to drain battery since I’ve had this system set up
So much work compared to installing in my last car
Hi doing the same to my fusion sel. What do I need to complete this already have Amp and subs.
Hey Tom, I pretty much highlight it in the video. If you’re sticking with a factory head unit, you’ll need something like the LC2i (line output converter) to turn the signal going to your factory speakers into something useable for your subs. It also acts as the remote turn on for your amp when it senses signal. Grab some wire and hardware along with your amp and subs and go to town
@@XxkristofpopxX what size speaker wire did you use? Did Microsoft sync still work after?
You don't need to drill through no metal to get a wire in the car. You take that installation down and look up to the left of the column your see a white plug plastic you can put a hole through it. It's about 1.5-2 in wide. I found it while looking to run power for my trailer wire converter.. I just wish I could find out something on that 2011 Mercury Milan premier Sony navigation amplifier wiring. Life which one is the subwoofer output so I could hook lc2 pro to the subchannel.
I got 2011 Mercury Milan premier with the Sony navigation system in it.. it has an amplifier in the back behind the panel. I wonder if that's the same as your system or does it got a different wiring? I want to go with the lc2 pro
CAN YOU SHOW ME HOW YOU CONNECTED THE WIRES AFTER YOU SPLICED😩
Is that for both sides. I did that but but my driver side doesnt work.
Which is the remote wire hook up
Hey bro
7722278800
Confirmed. Same problem with my 2017. Dealer quoted me over $400.00 to fix. I fixed for free using parts I already had. Maybe used $1 in parts. Thanks!!!!
I did everything the same way except I connected my loc directly to the speakers wires behind the radio. And my sub sounds weak but my amp is all the way up
What'd you hook up your 12v remote turn on for your amp??
@Ej Matranga radio antenna trigger
Great video! Full of the details✌️☺️😎👀
Where you ran the power wire, is that the only spot to put it through ? And how did you know what wires were what on the back of the radio ? Thanks
You can run the power wire anywhere you’d like, I just found that spot to work well. You could try looking at diagrams online to get an idea for the wires, or probe the back of the connector and read voltages.
When you hear vibration you’ve put to much subwoofer in the car for the size of which the car is. I’ll never understand why you young’s pups and even some older people act like you need two woofers and they have to be big to get nice sounding bass.
Just because you aren't a bass head doesn't mean others aren't. It's about feeling it too. Also sound deadening is a thing for a reason?
@@imthemistermaster you can have loud clean bass and feel it without it sounding distorted.
@@coyote5.02 lol the vibration you hear is all the plastics and other things in the car moving and vibrating because the sub is hitting those items resonance frequencies. It is quite literally what you feel in the bass, as with the power to make sound waves big enough to vibrate your chest, you've also got power to vibrate your car. It's not clipping unless theyre just a clown. Some systems even make things in your phone vibrate so much it'll distort the video
@@imthemistermaster if you use Dyno Matt that doesn't happen. My cousin installs systems and he uses it to deaden vibrations from the heavy hits of bass.
@@coyote5.02 so you should know that it's not "too much sub for the car" it's too little sound deadening for the sub.
Does the head unit got an outlet for the subwoofer ?
Idk how to reclamp the side pieces on the lower door side (where u ran the wires). I’m havin an issue
No lie i think this is the best tutorial especially for such a tricky topic ive ever seen
Hey Raven, I appreciate that!
Wonder if your lights stay on but don't work
I did this to my car and it killed my battery and stopped my power steering
Could you do a sub install for a 2008 Ford Fusion like this?
You’re a pretty pro dude
You didn’t explain well where does the remote go
Too damn much for a sub..
You done it the hardest way possible lol
Can u use the rear sub speaker wires?
U didnt have to take the radio out and do all that. U could of just did everything from the trunk. Use the back speakers.
Thanks for the input bleek101, but I don't have speakers in the trunk. Plus, I figure its about as much work getting to the rear door speakers as it is to just take the signal straight from the source at the radio. Thanks for watching!
Yea my bad lol. I seen that for my self. I just did my 2010 fusion se 6 speed. I did the door speakers much easier. Good video though u the one gave me the idea.
Only thing I learned was that the Fusion comes with a manual.
Nicely done, clean work done right!!
building a ballast box for a tractor that does not have a ballast box and using the tractor with out said ballast box to lift said ballast box to make things safer. All joking aside looks great! and its good to see the demo of how quick things can get flipped around when not using ballast. building one my self is way out of my comfort zone, looking at many options and styles for my new 1025 R JD probably going to get a Titan Cat 1, 3 Point Ballast Box
Funny how that works, isn’t it? And yeah, they make them pretty affordable in my opinion if you don’t have the ability to make one yourself. It’s a great addition to your implements, always nice to have options!
in my 2010 my display goes on and off not sure why anyone have had any problems with that problem??
Where did you grab the remote?
Great job
Where did u hook your remote wire too?
My remote wire runs from the LC2i to the back of the amp. The LC2i has a built in remote that switches on when it senses power through the speaker wire. Hope this helps!
That moment you jumped on top i was so ready for a slow-mo break down :)
We need a sequel
Just got my 2008 fusion with the 5 speed! They are incredible cars
where’d you run the power cable through?
What are the measurements of the box
Daniel Littlefield the box is approximately 36” wide, 14” tall, and 22” deep. The port hole is about 4” by 12.5”. I’d suggest a slightly smaller box if you’ve got a fusion, I had to really work the angles to get this box in the trunk!
Idk why I'm watching this I listen to metal lmao
Dude how the hell did u get a fusion in a stick shift
El Smith They’re somewhat uncommon, but they’re out there!
